Summer is a time for passion and potential, if you need help in that department here are 5 crystals to put in your bed now for love. If you think about it logically your spend more time in bed than in any other place in the home. Your bed is a place of rest, relaxation, and most importantly romance. There are simple ways to use crystals and sacred geometry to create a spell to bring love to you, and give your bed a romantic charge.

You can use one or all of the crystals listed below to help change the vibration in your bedroom to attract love. You can place these stones under your pillow to help influence your dreams. Alternatively, you can place the crystals under you bed either in the center or in the four corners to help your situation. They could also be carried in a mojo bag, or worn as jewelry to increase you chances of passion and romance. Truly the only limits are those of your imagination. As I say in my book Love Magic, “we all deserve a good love story, so let’s get started on yours. ”

Number One : Black Tourmaline

This stone is one of serious healing and protection. Many times when people are having difficulty with love they are in a sad and depressed state. This mindset makes it even more difficult to find love. Tourmaline can help change that by absorbing negativity, and healing past love difficulties. One of the great things about this stone is that it just doesn’t absorb negative energy, it transforms it into positive healing and opportunity.

Number Two : Selenite

In Love Magick, Selenite will help you find and manifest your true love. This stone is named for Selene, the Greek Goddess of the moon. It is useful for controlling emotions, and attracting passion, love, and magick.

Number 3 : Chrysocolla

Chrysocolla is a stone of hope and harmony, communication and connection. In all it’s forms this is a stone of communication on every level. Helping one to speak their truth, it is especially good for the throat chakra. Use it when working to balance the throat and the heart chakras for clear and loving connections.

Number 4 : Rose Quartz

When witches and pagans think love magick they think Rose Quartz. It is a standard crystal for accessing both personal and divine love, friendship, and healing. Often referred to as the heart stone, this has been prized as a talisman for love for thousands of years. Used everywhere on everything from Ancient Persia, Egyptian tombs, and Asian beauty spells, you can certainly use it’s great benefits today.

Around here lovely and lusty magickal potions are always in the air. I can’t speak about these kinds of potions and workings without talking about ethics. When I wrote my book Love Magic, I began writing about the serious topic of ethics concerning spell work, particularly of this kind. I would never advocate doing magic to interfere with another’s will or to bind or trap them. I’m not even sure why someone would want that. Very often I do psychic readings for people who are focused on a particular person. It doesn’t matter if the information they find is positive or negative they still ask for some kind of spell to “get” their chosen person. I explain all the downfalls of this, it could backfire, it could cost more they you are willing to give, it will most likely (even if you are successful) be temporary, and the most important thing if there is someone better for you out there why wouldn’t you want that. The following spells are designed to bring the best love for you directly to you.

Lilith Lusty Oil – This recipe honors her dominion over sacred sexuality and carnal connection. Wear it whenever you are wishing to unite with this aspect of the Goddess Lilith. For best results wear the oil on your heart chakra, and your pulse points near your wrists, neck, and back of your knees.

Ingredients:

3 drops Amber oil
3 drops Myrrh oil
3 drops Patchouly oil
3 drops Vanilla oil
1 dram Sweet Almond oil
Glass bottle

Gather all ingredients together on your ritual altar or shrine for Lilith. Add the sweet almond oil to the bottle. Next add the amber, myrrh, patchouly, and vanilla to the bottle. Rub the bottle vigorously between your hand, then take a long slow breathe and exhale onto the bottle. The oil is now ready for use.

Black Tourmaline is one of my favorite stones, not just for love but for almost everything. My book Love Magic features one spell you may want to try, it will help make sure your home is blessed and always ready for love.

There are many ways to magickally bring love and passion into your life. You can find more suggestions on this blog in our Love Crystals series. Here there is information on using Azurite for strength and clarity, Carnelian for vitality and creativity, Turquoise for healing and happiness , Amethyst for joy and self-awareness, and many more recipes for lusty magickal potions.

Love Magic by Lilith Dorsey. All rights reserved.

Warning Rant : It has come to my attention that there has been some discussion, behind my back mind you, that people have been talking about my latest book Love Magic and questioning my ethics. I’m not sure these people even looked at my book, but I am sure they are misguided, opportunistic, and that their own ethics and motivations are questionable. If people have a question the honorable thing to do is to talk to me.

Ethics can be a tricky business where magic is concerned, especially when we talk about love. People will do almost anything for love, and sometimes that isn’t a good thing.

What Love Magic Is and Isn’t

From the very start when I started thinking about writing a book about Love Magic the question of ethics was in the forefront of my mind. In my over 30 years as a professional psychic, witch, and Voodoo Priestess I know that people have very dubious ideas about what magic is and isn’t. Many people, likely influenced by Hollywood, think that magick is firmly rooted in control and dominance. We have seen these fictional stories over, and over again, and not just in the media. In Love Magic I tell a story that I have used as a cautionary tale for years when giving advice to my clients. It illustrates the age old maxim “be careful what you wish for.” We call this story the “Gotta Have Pat” lesson.

There was a man who was obsessed with his lover Pat. Pat did not return the affections in the way in which the man would have liked. Pat had other lovers, and refused to commit to a serious relationship. The man was heartbroken, and desperate. He did everything he could to have Pat in his life. He got card readings, lit candles, went to every store in the area and tried every love spell available. By the end of this process the man had a giant love altar set up in his home, filled with pictures of Pat, candles, crystals, herbs, jars, and the like. Eventually the two got together. Unfortunately both of them died of AIDS shortly after.

Now don’t get me wrong, obviously not everyone who does magic will end up with a tragic result, but I deeply understand how people must be very cautious. I had a client a few months back who came to me for a reading and spellwork after he had broken up with his partner. He asked me upfront what usually happens in these situations. I told him people most often work for what they want, and then aren’t happy when they get it. I don’t know if it’s just part of the human condition, but after a few weeks this gentleman got what he wanted, and was back again to ask for the exact opposite. This is why the Love Magic book I wrote is full of spells to help bring the best possible love to an individual. There are spells for self love, romantic love, and every other kind of love you can think of. There is a lot of information on ethics, and how to proceed responsibly when it comes to love spells. It would be very wrong not to include these things. I urge everyone to practice magic ethically, and to strive for their most highest good. I don’t have time for haters and others who want to indulge in bad ideas (either behind my back or under my nose,) life is too short and too beautiful for anything less than great joy.

Tarot of the Forest: The Lovers. Lovers Tarot card image by Ariel Grimm. Licensed under CC 2.0

As you might imagine I get a lot of interesting questions about Love Magic, since the publication of my book. People ask about love that can be mad, bad or dangerous to know, to quote a statement about Lord Byron. I get questions about everything from erectile dysfunction to making sexual parts bigger. And I get some very serious questions too. No matter what the situation I recommend people get a reading from a trusted practitioner. This way everyone can fully understand what’s going on in the matter at hand. Sometimes the love you have is not the best one for you, and sometimes you and your partner are meant for each other.  If I’m doing a lovers tarot reading there are certainly cards that can show up that mean the relationship is destined for better things. Some of these tarot love cards are the Lovers, the 2 of Cups, and the 10 of cups.

The Lovers Tarot Card

In the language of the Tarot the Lovers card is a manifestation of unity, balance, cooperation, most of all love. This card is assigned the number 6. One of my favorite writers Alejandro Jodorowsky said the other day that “Love is turning one plus one into one.” If this card appears in your future results you can expect some deep and powerful love coming your way. The imagery that most decks have for this card is of two figures holding hands, or embracing. Focus on bringing this sacred union into your life and you will be blessed.

The 2 of Cups

When examining the lesser arcana of the Tarot, the 2 of Cups card jumps out a most clearly relating to love and partnership. In the Book of Thoth Crowley titles this card love and writes “Love, the Lord of Love. Venus in Cancer. Chokmah. Description: Two cups in the foreground, overflowing upon a calm sea. They are fed with lucent water from a lotus floating upon the sea, from which rises another lotus around whose stem are entwined twin dolphins. This cards refers “to Love, which recovers unity from dividuality by mutual annihilation…The number Two referring to Will, this card might really be renamed the Lord of Love under Will, for that is its full and true meaning. It shows the harmony of the male and the female: interpreted in the largest sense. It is perfect and placid harmony, radiating an intensity of joy and ecstasy.” Many readers see this card as representing marriage or other type of serious union. It can symbolize commitment on every level.

The 10 of Cups

Representing passion, love, and joy the 10 of Cups certainly belongs on this list of love Tarot cards. This is a complete and contented love that involves the home and family. This is a card of light, of rainbows, of living and loving fully while manifesting all your dreams.

Ways to Use the Cards

If these cards come up in a reading there’s a good chance love will manifest for you, but what if they don’t show up in your future. You can use the lovers tarot card and others to help bring the right love for you into your life. You can meditate with these cards, place one under your pillow to inspire your dreams and to guide you to the perfect love. When you wake be sure to write down or record any images or messages received during the night. Another good idea is to use these cars as part of an altar, shrine, or vision board focused on love. You can use the actual card or a reproduction to represent those qualities in your magickal space. You can then add other items like love crystals, incense and candles to bring love into your life.

Wishing you the best of love ! And if you have enjoyed this post please spread the love and share !

The Goddess Hera has as her domain love, romance, and humor. She is a Greek goddess and her worship has existed for centuries. Often referred to as ‘The Queen of Heaven,’ she takes her rightful place as a protector and champion of women. In my opinion this makes Hera not just a goddess for our time, but for all time.

Patricia Telesco in her book 365 Goddess says “Hera rules the earth, its people and the hearts of those people. Using creativity, Hera nudges star-crossed lovers together, chaperones trysts and helps struggling marriages with a case of spring twitterpation!” Many of us remember her from History class. The Ancient History website talks about “Hera (Roman name: Juno), wife of Zeus and queen of the ancient Greek gods, represented the ideal woman and was goddess of marriage and the family….Hera herself was notable as one of the very few deities that remained faithful to her partner and she therefore came to symbolize monogamy and fidelity.”

Goddess Hera : Crystals

  • Amber – This is technically not a stone but a hard resin. Therefore it is also available is oil or paste form.
  • Citrine – A light yellow stone that is a form of quartz. It is useful in spells for love and healing.
  • Garnet – Traditionally used in wedding rings, garnet is a stone of marriage and passion.
  • Rose Quartz– This rosy pink manifestation of quartz is great to use for love and friendship. It is also wonderful used around children and pets.

Goddess Hera : Herbs and Oils

There are many sacred herbs and oils that you can use to honor the Goddess Hera. In my book Love Magic, I talk about how the Lily is ” said to be ruled by the goddesses Venus and Juno [Hera,] making it useful for many different types of love and marriage spellcrafting. When carried just picked from the garden, it is reported to protect you from negative love magics being performed against you.”

  • coconut oil
  • civet oil
  • gardenia
  • jasmine
  • lily
  • patchouli

These herbs and oils can be used as offering to Hera. Alternatively you can use these in your spellwork to bring about a deeper connection to the Goddess. For more information on Goddess Worship please see my book 55 Ways to Connect to Goddess. If you have enjoyed what you read here please remember to share, like, and comment on this post.

Tarot Reading is a complex skill. Luckily it is one that can be improved with time, practice, and a variety of magickal aids that will increase your psychic ability.

  • Amethyst – associated with psychic ability and connection to the Goddess on all levels. Amethyst will enhance your intuition and improve your spiritual awareness.
  • Quartz – this is said to open up the mind and the body to higher vibrations. Quartz can bring guidance on all levels.
  • Moonstone – this stone can help will all levels of psychic ability and accessing the unknown. It is a stone of honesty.
  • Tourmaline– Black tourmaline can be helpful with clearing and releasing energy after a tarot reading. It is said to purify, protect, and help with concentration. Some people even use Black Tourmaline for scrying.
  • Obsidian– this can be used for grounding and centering after a reading. It can also be used to cleanse and deflect negativity.

Once you have obtained your chosen rocks, there are many things you can do with them. Place one or all of the above stones in your tarot bag, or on your tarot altar. The ones for grounding and clearing can be used after the reading, and the others can be used at any time. The crystals can also be laid out in conjunction with your tarot spread. It can be especially helpful to place a crystal on top of your significator and/or your final card to help with clarity and vision. If you have an especially confusing reading try placing the crystal on the final card over night and then carrying it with your during the next day. This will help you to understand the situation on many different levels.
Crystals can also be used to help with your understanding and knowledge about a specific card. Each card is associated with at least one stone. The sun card, for example can be partnered with sunstone, citrine, amber, or other stones to enhance your connection. You can meditate on the Lovers card with a piece of Rose Quartz or Blue Lace agate to unlock some of the mysteries of this card.

After you have been using your crystals this way for awhile it may be a good idea to cleanse or recharge them. This can be done by leaving them out overnight during the full moon, or by burying them with salt or in the earth. Alternatively you can cleanse them with water, just sprinkle Holy Water or Florida Water over them occasionally and let them dry naturally.

Tarot professional Juliet Rose.

Tarot is on everyone’s lips right now, and for some of us it is always in our hearts. There’s a new film coming out, and my new book Tarot Every Witch Way releases soon. So I’m taking this fortuitous opportunity to highlight some of my favorite tarot professionals. This time it is a fellow New Orleans Witch, someone who is both near and dear to me, Juliet Rose.

When did you start divining?

I started divining when I was in high school. My cousin gifted me my first oracle deck when I was 15.

With what method?

I started out with oracle cards and then became fascinated with tarot pretty soon after. I bought my first tarot deck (a pocket-sized one right by the register that I could buy discreetly amidst other purchases) at Borders Books. I grew up in a conservative small town, so my tarot practice was like this beautiful, secret thing that was just mine—a world I could disappear in and connect with spirit for clarity and guidance without anyone else knowing. I fell in love with the practice and started divining about everything—relationships, life path, what college to go to, etc. I still mostly used oracle cards in my teen years, but started using primarily tarot when I got into my twenties.

Which method do you use most often now?

Definitely tarot (and mediumship/channeling). I find tarot can answer most questions and clarify most situations really effectively. Sometimes I use oracle cards and crystals to add further emotional and situational context to a tarot reading

How important is the choice/phrasing of the question?

I used to think it was not important, and then I started tracking my readings for myself in a journal and realized that when an answer “didn’t make sense” in a reading, it was usually because I hadn’t asked a real question or my question was too confusing/interpretable in a variety of ways. If you’re just looking for general guidance, I think it’s okay not to have a question, but then it’s important to be open to whatever message comes through. If there’s something you want to know, I’ve learned it’s better not to be “shy” with spirit and just ask what you want to ask, in the way you want to ask it, and then trust the message you receive is actually the answer to that question. I’ve also found clarifying timing to be important in certain readings. I remember about nine years ago, I pulled some cards about a cute guy I met in a bar. I was curious if we had any possible future together/if I should keep flirting with him, and I was happy to receive the two of cups and the ten of pentacles. I thought we were going to get close and maybe even have a romantic future with one another and was disappointed when “nothing happened.” Lo and behold, I ended up staying friends with the person and we did get emotionally closer in a way that has turned somewhat romantic a few times over the years—but not until many years after that initial reading.

Do you have a yes/no method of divining you recommend?

In the past, I’ve used pendulums for this, but I felt like I was influencing the results of the pendulum too much, so I switched to single card tarot pulls for yes or no questions. I have certain cards I think of as “yes,” “no,” or “maybe” answers to yes/no questions and depending on which single card I draw, that’s the answer to the question.

Is there any advice you have for newcomers when using divination?

You don’t need to rely on the guidebook as much as you think. A lot of new readers are sometimes put off from learning tarot because they’re worried about “memorizing all the meanings.” Personally, once I started trusting my own intuition more than I was trying to recall or remember specific traditional meanings of cards from any one book, my readings became more effective and specific to the people I was reading for.

What’s new and next for you?

I’m finishing some tarot and oracle deck concept ideas I’m hoping to try and pitch by mid-2024, as well as a poetry chapbook. I’m also excited to be presenting a class at WitchCon and working on a product line of talismans made from magickal plants.

What’s the best way for people to get it touch and get a reading?

One can book readings with me in-person or by phone at Potions Lounge, Vampire Apothecary, or Omen in the French Quarter (NOLA) or by scheduling online for a virtual session through my website, sunkissedowlmagic.com Clients seeking a custom time slot or appointment can email me at tigerjrose@gmail.com
