Chrysocolla is a stone of hope and harmony, communication and connection. To be honest this is one of my favorite crystals, I am intoxicated by it’s sparkling beauty and sublime power. In it’s most common form Chrysocolla is colored a bright greenish blue, but it sometimes also manifests as brown or black colored.

In all it’s forms this is a stone of communication on every level. Helping one to speak their truth, it is especially good for the throat chakra. Use it when working to balance the throat and the heart chakras for clear and loving connections.

The earliest mention of chrysocolla is in 315 B.C.E. by  Greek philosopher Theophrastus. The name itself comes from a blend of two words : chrysos meaning gold and kola which means glue. This points to the fact that it was originally used as a soldering material for gold. Here in the U.S. it is found in Pennsylvania, Utah, New Mexico and Arizona. Frequently it is found mixed with quartz or other crystals.

The website SaraCura Spirit tells us “Apache chrysocolla from the state of Arizona is a mixture of chrysocolla, turquoise, jasper, lapis, malachite and quartz crystal minerals. The history of Apache chrysocolla being used as a stone of gentle healing coincides with the history of other cultures. Legends originating in Far East places such as Tibet and Africa also tell of healings through the use of this. It has often been called multi-colored turquoise and, until recently, was not considered a gemstone in its own right until it was cited as a semiprecious gem rock. Then it became a favored stone for jewelry symbolizing prosperity, luck and fortitude.”

When looking for love sometimes you have to use all the spiritual tools that are available to find the love you need. Some of the most powerful tools for finding love are crystals. You can use the traditional ones like Rose Quartz, Citrine, or Unakite, and then you can expand your collection to include the lesser known crystals like apatite. This crystal comes in many different colors : blue, green, pink, purple, and golden. Each color has a slightly different meaning and focus. It can be found in Brazil, Canada, Mexico, Madagascar, Norway, USA, and Russia. It’s name comes from the Greek word for deception, most likely because of it’s ability to mimic other stones.

Metaphysically apatite will help you communicate with higher realms, enhance your insight and intuition, and boost your self-confidence. It can be used to heal your throat chakra, and help clear blockages and increase the flow of kundalini. Astrologically it is said to be associated with both Gemini and Libra. This means it will be especially helpfully for those who have these as their sun or moon signs.

Green Apatite

Green Apatite according to the website feelcrystals.com “Green Apatite is also called “bones of the earth” and is one of the best stones to work with when healing the earth, connecting with the planet’s electromagnetic field or communicating with birds and animals. It gives us a heart centered focus which inspires a humanitarian approach of service to others and aids us in manifesting these humanitarian aspirations into healing, knowledge, communication and teaching.”

Blue Apatite

Blue Apatite can help with spiritual guidance. In it’s blue form this stone is said to help heal the heart and transform past negativity. Therefore it can help with past life regression, and also soul retrieval. This stone is said to bring deep calm, creativity, peace, and transcendence. In particular the dark blue variations of this crystal can help with loosing weight, and improving metabolism and circulation.

Apatite Love Healing Spell

As many of us know leaving the past behind is an important part of being ready to start an abundance of new love.

1 Blue votive candle

3 drops Lavender oil

3 drops Jasmine oil

3 drops Freesia oil

1 small piece blue apatite

Gather ingredients together on the eve of the full moon. Anoint the votive candle on your ritual altar or sacred space. Place in a glass or other fire resistant candle holder. Put the crystal in front of the candle. Light the candle as it burns visualize all detrimental experiences from the past moving away from you. When the candle has burned out take the crystal and place it underneath your pillow for 3 nights in a row. This will help to remove the desired memories away from both your conscious and unconscious mind. Then take the crystal and bury it.

Unakite is one of the best crystals to use to bring about love and togetherness. It is a stone that can grant great vision and guidance. Named after a mountain range crossing Tennessee and North Carolina, Unakite is found throughout the U.S.A and also in South Africa, Sierra Leonna, China, and Brazil. In my new book Love Magic, I write “Unakite is derived from the Greek words meaning grow together. This is a stone of marriage, of deep and abiding partnerships. It would be a great addition to any handfasting or commitment ceremony.”

selenite

When using crystals for love and understanding one should certainly try Selenite. It is a hardened form of gypsum, formed from salt deposits in ancient bodies of water. Therefore it is helpful in all watery spells and magickal workings.

Selenite is said to help with inner and outer transformations on all levels. For this reason one should do a chakra balancing and clearing before beginning work with this stone. Do this by using stones like Black tourmaline, and a chakra pendulum to aid in figuring out which areas may need work. Pass the pendulum over your chakra centers, paying great attention to the pendulums reaction. Clean and meditate on each chakra that seems to need work. This way you will be as clear as possible for the magickal work you want and need to perform.

In Love Magick, Selenite will help you find and manifest your true love. This stone is named for Selene, the Greek Goddess of the moon. In charge of emotions, passion, love, and magick. In Patricia Jean Martin’s article on Magic of Rocks and Stones: Selenite she writes it

” contains feminine energy and is often used to connect and commune with the Divine, especially goddess energy. Some use it for angelic or spirit guide connection, or aid in interacting with the Ancients. Selenite crystals, or polished wands of Selenite, are often used as magic wands or as aids to help facilitate transporting one’s intentions to the Higher Self and/or the Universe.”

  • Place it under you pillow to bring clarity and vision to your dreams.
  • Put Selenite in the four corners of your room to establish a place of protection and manifestation.
  • The moon rules this stone. Yet it receives a special charge by placing it in the sunlight. Keep in on a sunny windowsill to recharge and cleanse it.
  • Selenite can allow access to past lives, and angelic realms.

When witches think love magick they think Rose Quartz. It is a standard crystal for accessing both personal and divine love, friendship, and healing. Often referred to as the heart stone, this has been prized as a talisman for love for thousands of years. Used everywhere on everything from Ancient Persia, Egyptian tombs, and Asian beauty spells, you can certainly use it’s great benefits today.

Rose Quartz and Aphrodite

Aphrodite is one of the most popular goddesses of love. She can be honored with pieces of Rose Quartz as an offering, or jewelry can be made from this stone to connect with her loving energy and blessings. The site thehealingchest.com gives a nice re-telling of the story of Aphrodite and this precious stone. “Aphrodite became trapped in a thorn bush while rushing to assist Adonis when Ares, the God of War, attacked him. Aphrodite arrived too late to save Adonis. Because of their powerful love, the blood of Aphrodite and Adonis spilled onto the quartz beneath them. From that point on, the quartz in the area had a rose quartz color. Their story of love is deeply tied to rose quartz meaning.”

Rose Quartz is also sacred to several other goddesses. The stone can be used as an offering for Freya, Yemaya, Venus, Isis, and Hathor. This ancient crystal is prized by many goddesses and is ultimately used to contact the divine feminine. You can use this stone to connect with the universal love energy of these deities. Do this by wearing jewelry, using it on their altar or shrine, placing the stone under you bed, or carrying it in your pocket.

Rose Quartz and Divination

Rose Quartz can be very useful in helping with divination. You can get a pendulum made of the stone and do readings about love and friendship with it. As an added benefit bless your pendulum with rose water and rose incense to cleans it between uses. A rose quartz pendulum can also be very helpful in Chakra re-balancing work. The stone vibrates with the heart chakra and can help to open you up to love healing and emotional breakthroughs.

The stone is also helpful for use in divination with tarot cards. You can keep the stone in your tarot bag, or on your divination altar when you are doing readings for love. Rose Quartz is associated with The Lovers card in the tarot. Use it to meditate with for better understanding of this card and its meaning.

Care and keeping of Rose Quartz

Let me start by saying don’t put this in the sun, doing so will cause it’s rosy pink color to fade. It order to clean the energy of this crystal you can wash it in rose water or spring water, bury it in the earth, or cover it with salt. This will help to ground and also recharge the natural energy of the stone.

Rose Quartz Water

In my new book Love Magic (now available everywhere books are sold,) I give a recipe for Rose Quartz Water. This type of quartz is traditionally a stone of great love and healing. This magickal water spell can be added to a bath, sprinkled about the home, or even placed in a spray bottle and used whenever necessary.

Ingredients:

1 cup Rose water

1 cup Spring water

1 piece Rose quartz

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl on the eve of the full moon. Place the bowl outside where the moon’s rays will touch and bless it. Leave it there overnight. The next morning it will be ready for use.

There are many different magickal ways to attract love into your life. Crystals can be one of them, most specifically the semi-precious stone known as Black Tourmaline can be of great help. Also known as shorl, this stone is one of serious healing and protection. Many times when people are having difficulty with love they are in a sad and depressed state. This mindset makes it even more difficult to find love. Tourmaline can help change that by absorbing negativity, and healing past love difficulties. One of the great things about this stone is that it just doesn’t absorb negative energy, it transforms it into positive healing and opportunity.
