Glimmers of Hope

When I read about conversion on the other side of the world, the lopsided baggage that immigrants bring to America from the old country, and the lack of balance and awareness amongst those in power, it makes me question whether interfaith interaction can really work. Fortunately, there are glimmers that things will come out okay: a letter was recently sent by Congressman Brad Sherman (D-CA) to Pakistan's President, Asif Ali Zardari, demanding an intervention to bring Ms. Kumari's abductors to justice. While I am an advocate for pluralism and look for opportunities to enable inter-religious understanding, I also understand the importance of Hindus having a voice, and representing those who don't: I sit on an interfaith seesaw.
