Hi, my name is Carolyn and my Hindu name is Ambaa. It comes through a childhood Sanskrit teacher. I’ve had a long and complex relationship with Hinduism so there’s been a lot to say on this blog! I’ve been writing it since 2009. A lot has changed over the past ten years. I am now married to a wonderful man that I met thanks to a blessing from Shankaracharya in Sringeri. My husband is also a white American. He identifies as Buddhist and Taoist. We have two beautiful children: Garrick Ravi and Priya Illana.
I am not a scholar or a teacher. I am just an ordinary every-day Hindu trying to live my best life and figure out the purpose of my existence. People seem to find value in watching my journey unfold and I have had some wonderful opportunities because of the blog. I’ve been invited to speak on three panels now, my work has been referenced in Hinduism Today, and I got to meet Morgan Freeman at a screening of The Story of God!
