Given that Vox Nova discusses the two dinner time no-no’s (religion and politics), I suppose we are doing something right in light of the multifarious feedback received. Thanks to all for taking the time to enjoy or detest our efforts. We take seriously constructive criticism proffered by our readers and other bloggers, so expect some changes to our project in an effort to instantiate more effectively our purpose.
The Good…
“I’m sure I will disagree often with the Vox Nova crowd…but it’s a great blog (if not quite as “diverse” as MOJ).”
“I have found the posts at Vox Nova to be uniformly thoughtful, thought-provoking, rigorous, reflective, and completely engaging…I absolutely can not recommend it enough!”
“Comparatively speaking, this blog is “liberal” only because it’s among the few Catholic blogs that does not march in lockstep with the full Republican agenda. In reality, it expresses the concerns of most Catholics and average Americans on the issues of our time, not just those that make Republicans look good or Democrats look bad.”
“… very dense and very thoughtful.”
“…I think it’s probably the most substantive blog going.”
The Bad…
“…a disappointing failure…they evince a rather consistent immaturity.”
“I admire the mission of Vox Nova but it has failed miserably in living up to its ideal.”
And the Insular…
“They are a bunch of hard left Catholics who are so self-deluded that they don’t think they have an ideological bent at all (a common feature of leftists, going back at least to Marx and his followers).”
“There was some angst a couple of years ago that the blogosphere was dominated by conservative Catholic blogs and that there wasn’t nearly as many liberal ones. Looks like they’re making up ground.”
