In case you didn’t know, being called a DEI candidate is a clear insult! Let’s see who all might qualify for that epithet.
I see lots of negative political chatter about the Democratic Presidential Candidate, current Vice-President Kamala Harris. Many of her detractors claim she is a “DEI” candidate.
Now, in case you didn’t know: this is very much meant as an insult. “DEI” stands for “Diversity, Equity, Inclusion,” a movement to open up our society more fully to historically disadvantaged people.
Many in the far-right, very biblically informed reaches of the US assume that anyone who might possibly have advanced in any area, be it professional, political, financial, or social, by this movement is, by definition, an inferior person, either by education, merit, or past accomplishments.
Therefore, candidate Harris, despite multiple accomplishments, is an inferior person since she could not possibly, by virtue of her skin color, sex and heritage, have managed such achievements without seriously preferential treatment. Undoubtedly, any white male seeking the same position would, again, by definition, be far more meritorious and worthy of such positions.
The Biblical Mandate Research
Since we as a nation really do seek a biblical foundation for our way of life–we ARE going to teach the whole Bible to our children, aren’t we?–we better look closely at that foundation.
Thus, as a theologian and lifelong student of the Bible, I made a thorough search of the Scriptures to see if possibly the whole DEI movement might indeed be profoundly unbiblical.
If so, this would further support all efforts to refuse to offer a hand up to those who were not born into white middle-to-upper class families with access to greater educational opportunities and freed from worry if there might not be enough food on the table, funds for rent checks, or random stops by the police because of an unfortunate skin color.
Any who are not part of this select group deserve their bad fortune. Trying to help out is a waste of time.
Indeed, my research clearly shows a deep biblical aversion to anything approaching the DEI movement.
Here’s a good starting place: the Scriptures clearly state that “No one whose testicles are crushed or whose penis is cut off shall be admitted to the assembly of the Lord” (Deut 23:1).
In other words, those with some sort of male genitalia impairment are automatically eliminated. Now this is important for the DEI movement to know: the Bible supports discrimination against those who don’t fit a certain physical criteria.
No Itching, Scabs, or Women Allowed
It turns out, however, that much more than perfectly intact male genitalia is necessary for true admittance. The Scriptures clearly state that “No one of your offspring throughout their generations who has a blemish may approach to offer the food of his God. For no one who has a blemish shall draw near, one who is blind or lame, or one who has a mutilated face or a limb too long, or one who has a broken foot or a broken hand, or a hunchback, or a dwarf, or a man with a blemish in his eyes or an itching disease or scabs or crushed testicles” (Lev. 21: 17ff).
Hmmmm . . . a quite thorough list. I suggest we have been very, very lax in properly vetting those who want admittance into the hallowed halls of church and governmental leadership. We are significantly guilty of violating our biblically-based non-DEI stance by not doing so.
As for women in leadership positions: it should never have happened if we are to be a truly biblical society. There is zero provision in the Hebrew Scriptures (BTW: that’s where the Ten Commandments, along with 603 more commandments, are found) made for women to approach God in the Holy Place.
In the Christian portion of the Bible, things appear to be a bit more open. Nonetheless, the Scriptures clearly state that ” the women should dress themselves modestly and decently in suitable clothing, not with their hair braided, or with gold, pearls, or expensive clothes, but with good works, as is proper for women who profess reverence for God. Let a woman learn in silence with full submission. I permit no woman to teach or to have authority over a man; she is to keep silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing, provided they continue in faith and love and holiness, with modesty.” (1 Tim 2: 9-15).
Thus, the woman’s role is to have lots of children and hope that the process of childbearing, if it is done modestly (I guess that means childbirth without exposing her private parts, somewhat inhibiting medical care during childbirth since the act centers around her private parts), will lead to her salvation.
One assumes if a woman dies because of a pregnancy-related catastrophe, her salvation is lost as she did not fully perform the mandated act. Childbearing is her sole entrance ticket.
If a woman has cats but not children, she has no place at all in our biblically based society.
Time to Get This Right
Now, if we are going to be a truly Bible-based society–remember: we ARE going to teach ALL of the Bible to our public school children, aren’t we?–we’ve got to apply these principles much more widely, especially in the area of those people elected to serve as lawmakers and leaders.
We MUST kick all women and ALL those who do not have perfectly formed bodies from those positions. I’ve already stated elsewhere that giving women the right to vote is absolutely non-biblical. Now, we also need to get rid of any male without a perfect body.
So, Greg Abbot, long in a wheelchair, must go. Donald Trump, whose bone spurs so sadly disabled him that he could not qualify for the draft as a young man, must also go. Out of courtesy, I am choosing not to mention his obesity and heart disease, but these also disqualify him.
In addition, anyone who wears hearing aids, glasses, or contact lenses, has had cataract operations to improve vision, has hair plugs, or uses make-up or Botox needs to be disqualified. Obviously, anyone with any skin issues, including acne, moles, skin tags or cancers, and maybe even turkey necks, needs to be eliminated from consideration.
Of course, genitalia checks will simply be routine. To forestall any possible evidence of a cover-up, photo evidence (carefully examined to make sure parts were not artificially inflated by various photo-editing techniques) of all candidate’s genitalia will be made public.
Time to stop all this DEI nonsense, clean out both church and society and have only properly vetted able-bodied men taking on all leadership roles.
