The Veil

I first heard the phrase “the veil is lifting” back in the 90’s; at the time, I would imagine that each of us who heard it mentioned in the rather generic way in which it was brought to our attention, thought of it as being something a little different. We didn’t discuss it. One of our teachers mentioned it in passing and left the concept hanging out there. Since then I have heard many interpretations of the lifting of the veil ranging from inter-dimensional access being made more easily available to more specifically pointed experiences such as angels walking the earth. None of those things have resonated with me personally, perhaps because I’ve had inter-dimensional access since about age four. What does make sense to me, and, in fact, what I see happening all around me, is exactly what Ian Xel Lungold talked about – although without ever using the term, veil lifting – in the many lectures and teachings he presented about the cycles of the Mayan calendar: the veil lifting from individual consciousness.

We are an evolving species, a small part of a much larger evolving being that is an equally small part of an even larger being and so on ad infinitum. Our physical evolution is a minor thing and matters only in so far as it generates an ever changing and rising vibration that supports this multi-leveled cosmic evolution. The closer our group consciousness gets to accepting its own Oneness, the faster this evolution proceeds and even the technology we have created supports these advances. The veil that has finally begun to lift is what was predicted by the Mayans centuries ago, we are, as a species, on the verge of embracing Oneness as a viable concept that will inform the decision making processes of humanity.

Mind you, “on the verge,” in cosmic terms is not a short span, but it does mean that we have passed what Malcom Gladwell calls The Tipping Point, i.e., it has gathered enough momentum that it cannot be turned back. This Age of Aquarius that we have been spanning – and will continue to span for some time – has us feeling as if we are moving forward at an ever-increasing speed but we’re not, we are simply in what I like to call The Curve of Time, a phenomena that is related to the Mayan predictions.

When you are driving in a car at a given speed and you reach a tight curve in the road you either gently apply the brakes so that you can navigate through the turn more easily or you risk your safety as you take your tires ability to hold tight to the surface of the road to the ultimate… and you feel as if you are going way faster than you had been before you hit the curve… but you’re not. It’s the curve. And right now our little solar system is navigating the curve of the larger system of which it is a small part. Space curves. And we get to feel it.

Space and time are one and the same. They are one dimension: the space/time dimension. Linear time is nothing more than a fabrication designed to allow us all to show up at the same place together; while it’s made life easier and more efficient, it has also deluded us into thinking that there is a ‘past’ and a ‘present;’ there isn’t. There is only the moment and the countless dimensions in which it exists. It is this reality that will eventually be ‘seen’ (though I use the word without its literal meaning) when the veil has indeed lifted. Perhaps we will all be able to embrace our multi-dimensionality at that point; who knows? Certainly our physical bodies have a long way to go before they can generate a brain that is ready to handle that particular reality. And so we continue to evolve. No point getting ahead of ourselves. If we all can commit to living in the now, everything will feel much simpler, much easier and generations from now, when the veil is perhaps gone altogether, some other aspect of us will be reveling in his/her/it’s now moment as well.
