Hi folks, this isn’t a real post. This is just my every-couple-months boilerplate where I organize everything I was doing when I wasn’t here.
This month I’m honored to be writing at the Post-Gazette again. I have an interview with Joseph, Holly the Witch’s homeless scrapper friend I talked about in this old post. Joseph has been through hell this summer, but he’s turned a corner and may be very well soon. You can read about how he went to jail and got rescued right here! Please do share this as I’m really proud of Joe and all the progress he’s made.
Also, Joe is drawing charcoal sketches while he’s in the sober home and trying to sell his artwork to pay for his toiletries and other things he needs. So if anyone would like to order a piece, let me know and I’ll put you in touch.
Second, I’ve gone back to my old plan of writing posts and making little videos about my travels to famous historic sites and tourist attractions in the Ohio Valley.
I will be posting short videos on my youtube page for now. Give me a follow there, and you can see my trip to the Moon Tree and to Frankfort Mineral Springs. I am also putting up little videos of how to grow an organic eco garden since I write about it all the time. There’ll be lots more to come!
Also please keep following me on the cesspool known as Twitter or X, where I do most of my goofy commentary, and on bluesky and Threads where I am more demure. Sometimes I think that if I ever get truly famous it will be for my trolling going viral on Twitter instead of for the writing I’m really proud of.
And now, introducing my Substack! This is for my more directly political work that isn’t to do with Catholicism, and for video and audio posts which are for paid subscribers only, but most of my written posts are free.
Finally, as always, may I awkwardly draw your attention to the tip jar?
I’m a starvingwriter who lives from project to project instead of taking in a monthly paycheck. I get a bit of royalties for my books, a get a tiny check from Patheos for clicks in the United States and nothing for clicks on the blog from most countries abroad. I get paid for the articles I write for other places and the other writing projects I do. But I am still very dependent on spontaneous tips or people who subscribe to send me a bit of money every month. Think of it as a magazine subscription where you get to pay whatever you think I’m worth and you can keep reading even if you can’t afford it.
This month, with help from some friends, we were able to finally replace my flood car after nearly four months without transportation. But we did that partly by putting off a few bills we should have paid, so just at the moment things are way too tight, and I’m going to have to get the plate transferred at the BMV in the next week or so as well, so as learning into a logjam. If you like what you read, give me a tip when you can so I can pay the light bill and keep my laptop turned on!
In order to tip me, go to my paypal here or my venmo page here. The Paypal says “donate” but it’s not a charitable donation, it’s just a gratuity I pay taxes on.
And now, back to posts worth your time!
