The cassette function of my new turntable has liberated many treasures from the long-neglected Big Box O’ Cassettes — including that Twitchen Vibes track. The Vibes were one of two really good bands that we were lucky enough to have on our little college campus. Two former Twitchen Vibes (that I know of) are still making music: Christine Havrilla is touring the country, and Charlie’s songs and music can be heard in his King Bonk podcasts. Both are worth checking out.
Bonus song: Just beyond this alphabetical range is “Redemption Song,” here’s Joe Strummer’s version with the Mescaleros, although my favorite is probably the haunting duet he recorded with Johnny Cash shortly before they both left us.
