To side with Gaza in this war is to side with Hamas because it is not the Gazan people who started this war or who are keeping it going. This war is not about a free Palestine. Hamas in their own words have admitted that their goal is not a free Palestine. Hamas’ goals are an Islamic world, including The West. If you are confused, The West includes us, The United States. Please don’t take my word for it. Let’s see what Hamas says about their own goals.
Hamas’ Goals: Islamic Rule Not A Palestinian State
In their original charter in 1987, Hamas did not agree to a Palestinian state. Only in the new charter do they begin to talk about a two-state system. Had their goal really been freedom for the Gazan people, a Palestinian state would have been what they were fighting for from the beginning. Rather, what they wanted and what they still want is the elimination of Israel and an Islamic rule of the world. Their charter states, “Palestine is an Arab Islamic land.” It further states that it can have nothing to do with another Pro-Palestinian organization simply because that organization is not Islamic.
“That is why, with all our appreciation for The Palestinian Liberation Organization – and what it can develop into – and without belittling its role in the Arab-Israeli conflict, we are unable to exchange the present or future Islamic Palestine with the secular idea. The Islamic nature of Palestine is part of our religion and whoever takes his religion lightly is a loser. The day The Palestinian Liberation Organization adopts Islam as its way of life, we will become its soldiers, and fuel for its fire that will burn the enemies.”‘
Hamas’s Goals For The West
In a speech after the Oct 7th attack on Israel Hamas made it clear that Hamas’ goals do not end with the freeing of Palestine. Hamas intends their movement to bring Islamic rule to the world. In the speech, Hamas said: “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood was launched from Gaza, but it will extend to the West Bank, to Al-Quds and to our people within the territories occupied in 1948, as well as to the Resistance and the Palestinian people abroad.” Abroad means us, The United States, and other Western countries. If that is not enough to convince you of Hamas’ goals for the West they went on to clarify:
“And we say to all countries, including our beloved Arab countries: you must know that this entity (Israel) which is incapable of protecting itself from our fighters is incapable of providing you with security or protection. All the normalization and recognition processes, all the agreements that have been signed [with Israel] can never put an end to this battle.”
This is a direct threat to other countries. Hamas is coming! This makes sense considering their charter states, “It will spare no effort to bring about justice and defeat injustice, in word and deed, in this place and everywhere it can reach and have influence therein.” Yes, they said everywhere they can reach. They do not plan to stop with Palestine.
Rejection of Peace and Aid
The proof that Hamas does not care about the citizens of Gaza is in their own charter. They have repeatedly rejected peace and humanitarian help. Their charter states:
“‘[Peace] initiatives, and so-called peaceful solutions and international conferences are in contradiction to the principles of the Islamic Resistance Movement… Those conferences are no more than a means to appoint the infidels as arbitrators in the lands of Islam… There is no solution for the Palestinian problem except by Jihad. Initiatives, proposals, and international conferences are but a waste of time, an exercise in futility.” (Article 13)
Further, the charter states: “Jihad is its path, and death for the sake of Allah is the loftiest of its wishes.”
Hamas’ Goals Prevent Gazans From Having a Better Life
The Charter goes further to state that they will not allow for the relocation or for a state to be made for the people anywhere but in the land of Israel. The charter states. ” Hamas rejects all attempts to erase the rights of the refugees, including the attempts to settle them outside Palestine and through the projects of the alternative homeland.” In other words, the goal is not to provide a safe homeland for the people of Gaza. Rather, the goal is to take the land away from Israel, and Hamas is willing to sacrifice the happiness and health of its people to achieve this goal. Khaled Meshaal reinforced this idea in an interview:
Q: Are you saying you will drive a harder bargain than other negotiators in past?
A: The method used by Israel in its negotiations with the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) and in its attempts to take free compromises in return for limited small offers will not work with the Hamas movement. Hamas today has the confidence of the people and won the ballot. Hamas cannot accept the logic of bargains with Israel. Israel has to respect Palestinian rights. We are demanding a Palestinian state on the 1967 border including Jerusalem and the right of return. Israel has to say yes I agree and withdraw. But for Israel to suck us into bargains in stages and in packages, this road constitutes an attempt to weaken the Palestinian position, to lure the Palestinians into lowering the ceiling of their demands and to use the time factor and pressure which will not work with us.
Muslim Brotherhood
Finally, any attempt to discern Hamas’ true goals must understand their ties to the Muslim Brotherhood and the goals of that organization. In the speech after the Oct 7th attack, Hamas proudly proclaimed, “The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) is one of the wings of Muslim Brotherhood in Palestine” The Muslim Brotherhood has made clear their goals stating:
“You all know that our main and overall mission as Muslim Brothers is to empower God’s religion on Earth, to organize our life and the lives of people on the basis of Islam, to establish the Nahda of the Ummah and its civilization on the basis of Islam, and to subjugate the people to God on Earth.”
Clearly, they wish to bring Islamic rule to the entire world. They go on to say, “We are preparing for the stage of Islamic government after this because it is what follows the stage of society.” Since Hamas claims openly and proudly to be a part of this terrorist organization we can assume Hamas’ goals are the same as The Muslim Brotherhood’s. They want to subject the people (all people) to G-d on Earth.
The Road To Peace Begins With Removing Hamas
In conclusion, Hamas wishes to bring about Islamic rule in the world. They will not stop with Palestine. Today they have come for the Jews, but tomorrow they will come for the world. They have admitted as much in their own words. To support Gaza now is to support the Islamic rule of the Earth. Unless you want to convert to Islam or die, we must support Israel in defeating the terrorists who refuse to let the people of Gaza find a new homeland or engage in peace talks that could improve their way of life. Only when Hamas is defeated may all Palestinians, Jews, and Gazans, be free.
