Submission Guidelines

Progressive American is a progressive news and commentary blog hosted by Patheos Progressive.

We welcome submissions for inclusion on the blog, and are open to regular contributors who wish to write for Progressive American on a frequent basis.

Submissions for inclusion on the blog should generally meet the following guidelines:

• Provide commentary on newsworthy stories/events from a progressive viewpoint.
• Be between 500-12oo words.
• Preference given to original content not previously published.
• May include either or both religious or political themes.

For those interested in becoming a regular contributor, please contact the managing editor of the blog, James Ireland (progressiveamericanblogATgmail.com). Include links to previous work, and reasons why you feel you would be a good selection for a regular contributor. Those selected will be asked to provide content on a weekly basis or more, and will be allowed to promote their own social media in their posts. Posts are exposed to a large audience via Patheos and our partners, which will be a direct benefit to regular contributors who are looking to grow and expand their social media following.

For those regular contributors who excel and are looking for upward mobility, there are opportunities to work up to being offered a personal blog at Patheos. Joining Progressive American as a regular contributor can be an excellent stepping stone for up-and-coming bloggers looking for an opportunity to learn, grow, and upward mobility.
