Trump "Respects" Women
Trump “Respects” Women

Trump has asserted that he respects women on a regular basis. But his claim is merely a cynical political ploy. His statements about women when he is is not trying to score campaign points paints a far different and darker picture.

Trump Views Women As Objects

Trump appeared on the Howard Stern Show dozens of times and the topic invariably turned to sex. Women were rated by their looks and Trump discussed their “fu**ability.”

In one instance, Trump ranked his top 10 most beautiful women, and while his then-girlfriend Melania Knauss took the top spot, Trump told Stern he definitely would have sex with Mariah Carey, Cindy Crawford, and Princess Diana, who also made the list. In another appearance, Trump assigned each of the actors on ABC’s Desperate Housewives a score of 1 to 10 based on their attractiveness. He said of one of the actors, Nicollette Sheridan: “A person who is very flat-chested is very hard to be a 10.” When he got to Marcia Cross, he asked Stern, “Would you go out with Marcia Cross or would you turn gay, Howard?”

Trump Is Obsessed With How Women Look

Along with talk about flat-chested women Trump has openly mocked women for their failure to look the way he and, it seems by their silence, his supporters like. Of presidential candidate Carly Fiorina he said:

“Can you imagine that, the face of our next next president? I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”

Of the women in the Miss USA pageant, which he owns, he told us he planned to have them wearing smaller swimsuits and higher heels. In 2005 he said “If you’re looking for a rocket scientist, don’t tune in tonight, but if you’re looking for a really beautiful woman, you should watch.” This was in spite of the fact that many of the contestants have demonstrably brilliant minds.

Trump Is A Sexual Predator

In the now infamous recording with Billy Bush, Trump openly and laughingly spoke of trying to have sex with married women. He then goes on to talk about assaulting women and possibly assaulting the woman they were going to meet. This brought yawns of complacency from his otherwise moralizing Christian supporters:

Trump: Yeah, that’s her. With the gold. I better use some Tic Tacs just in case I start kissing her. You know, I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.

Bush: Whatever you want.

Trump: Grab ’em by the pussy. You can do anything.

Bush: Uh, yeah, those legs, all I can see is the legs.

Trump: Oh, it looks good.

And in a deeply demented discussion of Lindsay Lohan Trump mused that:

“She’s probably deeply troubled and therefore great in bed. How come the deeply troubled women, you know, deeply, deeply troubled, they’re always the best in bed?”

If this does not cause the moralists on the right who go into a pearl-clutching frenzy over imaginary predators in bathrooms to speak out then it is clear they are simply using “morals” as a convenient weapon against their political foes.

Donald Trump is a misogynist and a sexual predator who has shown his contempt for women over and over. On International Women’s Day is is important to speak out against him and those who support his degradation of women either by their silence or by explaining away his words and actions. America only becomes great when we stand up for women with more than empty words.
