Yesterday someone sent me this clip of pastor Steven Andersonβs most unhinged rants. Itβs a mish-mash of flaming homophobia in which Anderson demonstrates God-approved hetero sex with with, are you ready for it, a bolt and nut.
That is pretty crazy, but it does not even begin to hold the crazy candle to the rantings of Anderson against a pastor by the name of Jeff Durbin. Now, I donβt know all the details why Anderson is so obsessed with Durbinβs possible sexuality, but when you read through Andersonβs own transcript of the text conversationΒ two things leap out.
- Anderson could not possibly be any more scary, delusional and not rational with his questions.
- Durbin was remarkably polite, restrained and lucid when confronted by this madness.
Take a look for yourself of this short section:
I am amazed and impressed that the other pastor managed to be so restrained in the face of this none of his business probing by Anderson. Following this piece is an βanalysisβ of the text conversation by Andersonβs wife Zsuzsanna that is nearly as weird as the conversation.
The guy that sent me this clip has a theory about Steven Anderson that just might be right. He thinks that Anderson is the natural result of the many years of the Independent Fundamentalist Baptist Church becoming more toxic and insular as time has passed. He is the distillation of their worst impulses.
What is terrifying about all of this is that Anderson does have supporters, not just his tiny echo chamber of a church Faithful Word Baptist Church. He is global, with thousands of misguided supporters who flock to his hate speech like bees to poisoned honey.
Edited to add this new video someone just sent me:
