This is a Samhain incense recipe and divination by fire ritual that you can do to get the answers you need. Make offerings to your deities, ancestors, and spirit guides before performing this ritual, and make sure you have cleansed yourself and called in protection before performing.
There are a few things you’ll need:
Samhain Incense (Recipe below) and charcoal disk
2 Fire safe container
Black Candle
Pen and 2 Pieces of Paper
Samhain Incense
To Make Samhain Incense combine 3 parts mugwort, 1 part rosemary, 1 part chamomile, 1 part ground clove, 1 part dried pomegranate seed and place on a charcoal disk in a fire safe container.
Divination by Fire
Breathe and relax, getting into a meditative state. Determine a question want answered, write it down on one piece of paper and place it under the charcoal disk in the fire safe container. Word your question as simply as possible to get the clearest results. Light your incense.
On the second piece of paper, write down something you are ready to release. Fold this paper away from you three times. Light the candle. Use the flame to light the folded paper on fire and drop it in your second firesafe container, offering what you’re releasing to Persephone as she takes her throne in the underworld in exchange for an answer.
Focus on your question and gaze into the flame, allowing yourself to be open. Let your eyes relax as you meditate, note any images or sounds that come through for you. When you feel that the divination session is complete, extinguish the candle or (if safe) let it burn out. You can complete further divination by reading the wax if any is left. Write down what you saw/heard and reflect on how it relates to your question.
