H. G. Wells Dies

H. G. Wells died today in 1946.

He spoke convincingly of the dangerous times we face, particular of nuclear holocaust.

Here’s a badly written summary of his thinking, going for the absurd on occasion and with an over the top emphasis on time travel. But it was the best I could find, and it does hit the real points if often hidden among the nonsense, which I rather like in how it mirrors the way we usually live our lives…

The Wikipedia article on Wells traces the source of the famous epitaph he said we wanted. In the preface to the 1941 edition of The War in the Air Wells wrote how it should read “I told you so. You damned fools.”
