This book! No, seriously, this book! I cannot tell you how much I love Astrology for Real Life: A Workbook for Beginners (A No B.S. Guide for the Astro-Curious) by Theresa Reed. If you follow Theresa online, you’ll most likely know here as “The Tarot Lady” and perhaps not so much as “The Astrology Lady.” However, Theresa shares her love for Astrology with us. “Sure, tarot is my main squeeze,” she writes in the introduction, “but astrology is my perfect side piece.” This gives you the perfect taste of the book, its spirit, and its tone.
Theresa’s tone is funny, light-hearted, immensely informative, and sarcastic. Most of all, this book is as fun as it is educational. She understands how intimidating astrology and all its jargon can be for the beginner and she teaches it in a way that really takes away all of the intimidation. That being said, while Astrology for Real Life is written for beginners, I finished the book having learned several new things myself. Theresa has hit a home-run with this book and without a doubt from this point forward, Astrology for Real Life is my immediate first recommendation for anyone who wants to learn astrology.
