Review: Madame Pamita’s Magical Tarot

Review: Madame Pamita’s Magical Tarot March 7, 2019

Madame Pamita’s Magical Tarot: Using the Cards to Make Your Dreams Come True is a book that I somehow almost overlook and I’m glad that I didn’t. What comes across immediately is Madame Pamita’s clarity in regards to both her understanding of the tarot as well as her writing style. The book begins with a few ideas regarding tarot and using them for manifestation purposes and some of these I’ve never come across before. Madame Pamita has this amazing aura of charisma about her as anyone knows who has met her or come across her youtube channel and it’s not surprising that it also comes through strongly in her book.

Madame Pamita’s Magical Tarot: Using the Cards to Make Your Dreams Come True book centers around the Rider-Waite-Smith deck and draws on the traditional meanings and symbolism of the imagery within each card. Because of this, there’s a feeling to the book reminiscent of those antique tarot books. What makes it differ from those books is Madame Pamita’s ability to present it in a clearer manner, write in a tone that is modern and understandable, and the information is provided in a fashion that makes it quick to reference without adding unnecessary filler text or interpretations that stray from the original intention of the Rider-Waite-Smith deck.

I feel this book was immediately impressive. Not because it goes into a bunch of theorized personal ideas and interpretations of the tarot, but rather because Madame Pamita stays true to the classic tradition of tarot interpretation while giving it a contemporary voice. I would group it among some of the best authors and experts on the Rider-Waite-Smith tarot out there such as Rachel Pollack or Mary K. Greer. I think as more people discover and read Madame Pamita’s Magical Tarot: Using the Cards to Make Your Dreams Come True that it’s bound to become one of those classic tarot books out there.
