Former U.S. President Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for the presidential election this November, in a political rally last night in Minnesota blasted the apparent Democratic presidential nominee and current Vice President Kamala Harris with his typically disparaging style, calling her “evil,” “unhinged,” “sick,” and “a lunatic.” Its what his MAGA crowds wants, cheering him on as he does it. IMO, it shows the depths of depravity into which the USA has been falling for several years, at least since Donald Trump first emerged on our political horizon, nine years ago.
Kamal Harris—who both current President Joe Biden and former eight-year U.S. president Barack Obama have endorsed as president—is quite the opposite of all those Trumpian descriptions, showing that The Donald still proves to be the consummate liar that he is. Mrs. Harris, who is married to a Jewish man, top entertainment lawyer Douglass Emhoff, is certainly not a “lunatic,” which means “a mentally deranged person.” This lawyer has been quite successful as a legal prosecutor, the district attorney of San Francisco, and both the attorney general and a U.S. senator of the State of California, the largest state in the U.S. with a population of nearly 50 million people.
Last Monday, Mrs. Harris gave her first public speech following President Biden’s decision to withdraw from his presidential campaign due to age and nominate his vice president, Mrs. Harris, as his choice for the Democratic nominee for president. The Democratic National Convention will decide in Chicago next month.
In that speech Mrs. Harris said, “In those roles I took on perpetrators of all kinds: predators who abused women; fraudsters who ripped off consumers; cheaters who broke the rules for their own gain. So hear me when I say I know Donald Trump’s type,” insinuating that he is all of those in accordance with recent court cases.
Vice President Harris’ former communications director and a pastor’s son, Jamal Simmons, reportedly said four hours ago, “The vice president has a strong Christian faith that she’s talked about a lot.”
Mrs. Harris certainly is not “evil” since she has been a practicing Christian much of her adult life as a member of the Third Baptist Church in San Francisco. She testifies that as a young girl, she was brought to a Church of God congregation where she first learned Christian teachings and values. She is the daughter of immigrant parents—an Indian mother and a Black father from Jamaica, both of whom were professionals.
Donald Trump has said he would debate the Democratic nominee “anywhere and any time.” But now that Harris appears to be that nominee, Trump is backtracking. I think he’s scared to death to debate this former prosecutor next September because she will turn this real estate tycoon and now an alleged criminal into chopped liver.
