Gumption-esque Beginnings

Gumption: initiative; aggressiveness; resourcefulness; courage; spunk; guts; common sense; shrewdness.

It looks like gumption is a lot of things that I hope to call myself one day. It is now the middle of January and the new year is well on its way, time slipping past us ever so quickly. I decided to start blogging this year. I find this to be a difficult process so far, one that calls for gumption around every corner; I find myself questioning whether this endeavor is truly worth the time it takes.

The world is full of gumptive souls, people who chase dreams, catch them, and pour them into the lives of others. In claiming that “my heart is fixed”, a verse from Psalm 57, I claim the hope of taking on a spirit of gumption as my life shifts into a new season.

Ever since I gave birth to Eliot in November of last year, my mind has been racing with new ideas, and my heart has begun to whisper things into my waiting ears once again. So I embark on this journey, a new mother, a blessed wife, in hopes of becoming a woman full of gumption.
