What was I thinking?

What was I thinking?

What was I thinking?  I have no time to post.  And there is less internet access here than there was in China.

So let me say as a wrap of the week…

AWESOME.

Monkeys and body surfing and beautiful scenery.  Hearing my dad and Kathiana’s dad (Kathiana is our au pair) talking about their lives as cab drivers even though my dad and her dad do not speak one word of each other’s language.  Finding out that my Dad worked 72 hours per week when he was driving, something I hadn’t heard before.  Watching the boys play in the pool with Tico boys.  Hearing them use their limited Spanish with great pride.  I could go on and on.  AWESOME.

But in all honesty, I should add a word.

DIFFICULT.

NO ROAD SIGNS, very few paved roads, one kid with a viral thing, two kids running about twelve hours behind on sleep at this point, Edelschicks with bad nerves (all three of us), Ticos who are extremely mellow and gracious and kind and therefore make you feel like a dink for having bad nerves.  I could go on and on.  DIFFICULT.

AMAZING & DIFFICULT.  A full life.  But too amazing and too difficult to regularly post. I’m pretty sure, though, that when we land in San Jose next week I’ll be able to post again each day.

In the meantime, PURA VIDA!!!!
