I believe there is an eerie alignment between Donald Trump’s rise to power and ancient prophecies. What comes to mind for me is Nostradamus‘ famous prediction of three Antichrists. They are said to be Napoleon, Hitler, and the third is to come. Could Donald Trump be the third Antichrist mentioned by Nostradamus, and are there scriptural connections to back this idea?
Who Was Nostradamus?
For those of you who don’t know, Nostradamus was a16th-century French astrologer, physician and seer. Nostradamus did not consider himself a prophet. By today’s standards, he would be considered a scientist. He leaned into Astrology to create almanacs to predict weather and other events. According to a discovermagazine.com article, in 1555 he created “Les Prophéties or The Prophecies. Written as a series of poetic quatrains (stanzas of four lines each), Nostradamus organized his predictions into 10 groups of 100 quatrains (give or take). These groupings are known as “Centuries,” but the term only refers to the number of poems in each group, which do not correspond to actual centuries in the future.”
There are many interpretations of Nostradamus’ Quatrains. He was not clear and concise plus there is terminology today that just wasn’t used in his time. There are many articles and television shows that talk about his predictions. I recommend you conduct additional research before you form your own opinion.
In his Quatrains he specifically mentions “three Antichrists.” Interpretation names Napoleon and Hitler as the first two. Some theories speculate that each antichrist paves the way for the next. They build on what others have done. “History” on Youtube offers a full episode of Nostradamus Effect: The Third Antichrist. It introduces the prophecy of the “third Antichrist” bringing global destruction.
Nostradamus’ Quatrains and the Third Antichrist
In an article on Hubpages entitled, “Nostradamus Predictions About Donald Trump,” author Sylvia Sky talks about what the words of Quatrains 10.73 through 10.76 may mean. Since Nostradamus was believed to make up words to write in code, could “trumpet” refer to “Trump?” Could Quatrain 3.81 have predicted Trump’s election win:
“The great shameless, audacious bawler,
he will be elected governor of the army:
the boldness of his contention,
the bridge broken, the city faint from fear.”
Let’s look at Quatrain 10.76:
“The great Senate will ordain the triumph
for one who afterwards will be vanquished, driven out:
At the sound of the trumpet of his adherents there will be
put up for sale their possessions, enemies expelled.”
This seems to be happening with President Trump today. People who stood beside him and supported him are no longer doing so. He is definitely causing great division in this country, if not also in the world. Trump shows no respect for humankind or cultural differences. He talks of invasion and disruption. Just think about what he has in common with Napoleon and Hitler. So far he is only having people deported. What is next?
Characteristics of the Antichrist in the Bible
Turn to the Bible to understand what an Antichrist may appear to be:
2 Thessalonians 2:3-4, “Let no one deceive you in any way. For unless the apostasy comes first and the lawless one is revealed, the one doomed to perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god and object of worship, so as to seat himself in the temple of God, claiming that he is a god—” (usccb.org) Trump places himself above the law, as if he could do no wrong.
Revelation 13 – This definitely suits him as he is a beast with great authority, deceives many and demands worship.
1 John 2:18, “Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that the antichrist was coming, so now many antichrists have appeared. Thus we know this is the last hour.“ (usccb.org)
Trump was seen as a charismatic man, until truth revealed itself. He is full of deception and has a great desire for power and dominance. He speaks arrogantly and blasphemes God. Just last year, he compared himself to Jesus.
Trump’s Actions and Words: Past and Present
Scrutinize his actions and words. Trump continually demonstrates his belief that he alone can do it all. Having made statements of self-exaltation, he believes he alone can fix America. He has built relationships with dictators such as Putin and Kim Jong-un, while he disrespects American citizens. Trump has been caught taking and continues to take controversial actions like the Muslim ban and insurrection rhetoric.
In 2025 alone, he has made questionable policy changes like the tariffs. He is increasing global tensions in many ways including using nationalism by talking about taking over other countries like Canada and renaming the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. He divides humankind every time he speaks with his negativity and insults.
Counterpoints and Caution
Prophecy is often symbolic and open to interpretation. Throughout time there have been false prophets and prophets who really were not prophets at all. Remember that calling someone the Antichrist is a heavy charge. Don’t make the decision lightly.
Examine the fruits of the spirit as listed in Galatians 5:22-23, “In contrast, the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.” (usccb.org) versus works of the flesh. Let the Holy Spirit guide you in your discernment.
The Bigger Picture: Spiritual Discernment and the End Times
Stay watchful as directed in Matthew 24:4-14, “Jesus said to them in reply, “See that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and they will deceive many. You will hear of wars and reports of wars; see that you are not alarmed, for these things must happen, but it will not yet be the end. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; there will be famines and earthquakes from place to place.
All these are the beginning of the labor pains. Then they will hand you over to persecution, and they will kill you. You will be hated by all nations because of my name. And then many will be led into sin; they will betray and hate one another. Many false prophets will arise and deceive many; and because of the increase of evildoing, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come.”(usccb.org).
Do test the spirits. Consider 1 John 4:1, “Beloved, do not trust every spirit but test the spirits to see whether they belong to God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.” (usccb.org). We need unity, truth, and love in a divided world to bring it together.
Is Trump the Third Antichrist?
Trump could align with prophetic signs of the third Antichrist, but we must look with both faith and wisdom. The decision is yours. God gave us Free Will. Choose wisely in all you do. Whether Trump is or isn’t the Antichrist, believers are called to remain vigilant and grounded in God’s word. Do, however, pray for our world.
