a guest-post by Shane McCormick How many religious leaders in 2018 support legalizing cannabis? Very few, but here is my take-away after an interview with one who does. I was inspired to conduct an interview with Reverend Capo after reading an article in the Chicago Tribune in which he was quoted as being in support of the legalization of the use of marijuana. The purpose of the interview was to educate myself and others about the fight for the legalization of... Read more

Special Counsel, Robert Mueller, as a young man, served as a United States Marine in combat in Vietnam where he was shot, recovered from his wounds, and was returned to duty. He later received a Bronze Star and a Purple Heart. He was nominated as FBI Director by George Bush. The vote was 98-0. 2,000 years ago, the twelve Apostles of Jesus who had been leading the early Christian Church gathered to discuss an allegation that would have been all-too-familiar to a modern American audience: its welfare policies were failing to serve the needs of racial minorities. The Acts of the Apostles (the book that immediately follows the Gospels in the Christian New Testament) reports that after the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus, the early Christian church experienced a rapid growth in numbers.... Read more

I know we all lament the commercialization of Christmas. That said, it’s not worth getting all offended by a ‘season’s greetings’ card, or a ‘winter holiday celebration’ at your kids’ school or your workplace. Here’s why we should stop demanding “our holiday” back. Read more
