Best Personal Finance Apps for iPhone and iPad

The top iPhone and iPad apps for personal finance allow you manage nearly all aspects of your finances from the palm of your hand.  From checking the latest stock figures, to managing budget transactions and debt projections, there’s definitely an app for that.

But with over 500,000 apps and counting, it can be difficult to sort through the good, the bad, and the ugly – especially if you’re looking for a premium app that you’re going to be paying for.

Mint.com (FREE)

Mint.com is definitely my favorite financial software, and there’s good reason for it!  The interface is really user friendly and they stay on top of the latest technology including their top performing iPhone app.  Use the app to manage transactions and keep an eye on budget categories with a quick glance.  It’s really a great tool to keep track of all your financial accounts.

RedLaser (FREE)

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve used RedLaser to compare prices while I’ve been shopping.  I’ve saved so much money because I took a few seconds to scan an item – it’s an awesome app that really does save you money.  The coolest part is that when you find cheaper items online, you can usually click and get redirected to buy the item from your phone.

Paypal (FREE)

PayPal is such a great way to securely transfer funds online.  It’s simple and easy, especially since you can manage your funds and even send money right from your phone.

TurboTax (FREE)

TurboTax has done it again!  You can now file from your iPhone or iPad with their new app.  For people who are filing a simple tax return (1040EZ) the SnapTax app will make filing your taxes a breeze.  You can simply snap a picture of your tax documents and file your taxes through the app.  How cool is that!

Pay Off Debt ($2.99)

If you are a student of the debt snowball method of paying down debt, this app is for you.  You can use this app to visualize your payments and projected payoff dates just by imputing a few pieces of data.  Read more about this financial app at TheDebtMyth.com

StockTouch ($4.99)

If you want a simple way to view the top 900 stocks in the market, you’ll find StockTouch to be a helpful tool.  It’s a simple ‘heatmap’ that sorts the market by price and volume, allowing you to sort through and zoom in on stocks in an instant.  View this video to see the functionality of StockTouch.
