Halloween Playlist II: The Music Stopped… And She Died!

Halloween Playlist II: The Music Stopped… And She Died! October 1, 2019

Last year’s effort (sorry about the weird gap of silence at the end of “Red Sunshine”!). Several of these choices I owe to Generic Male DJs, a highly pleasurable YouTube channel. This year seems heavier, and less aggressively Gen-X; I have no theories as to why, I just like all these songs a lot and think they would enhance your vampire weekend, werewolf bar mitzvah, ghouls’ night out, or other spooky occasion.

Talking Heads, “Psycho Killer.”

Toto Coelo, “Dracula’s Tango.” I’m not linking to the actual music video, even though it’s mostly adorable and glam-camp, because–I kid you not–they depict desecration of the Host. Must we???

Delta 5, “Shadow.”

Boiled in Lead, “The Twa Corbies.”

Patti Smith, “Birdland.”

The Doors, “Strange Days.”

Dead or Alive, “Something in My House.”

Dead Men’s Bones, “In the Room Where You Sleep.”

Howlin’ Wolf, “The Killing Floor.”

Bo Diddley, “Who Do You Love?

Hole, “Jennifer’s Body.”

Los Straitjackets, “Theme from ‘The Munsters.’via NostromoSerg.

Ray Parker Jr, “Ghostbusters.”

North American Hallowe’en Prevention Initiative, “Do They Know It’s Halloween?

Siouxsie and the Banshees, “Night Shift.”

Diamanda Galas, “Tony.”

Screamin’ Jay Hawkins, “Whistling Past the Graveyard.” nb: This also has a weird long pause at the end, sorry!

The Ramones, “Pet Sematary.”

Dead Men’s Bones, “Flowers Grow Out of My Grave.”

your turn! I am always interested to hear others’ choices here.
