Depending on my mood, I can get into just about any kind of music. I definitely have my favorite genre’s and artists, but love (most) all types of music.
There are a couple of artists and songs, however, I have been wearing out over the last several months.
This new one by NeedToBreathe will blow your mind (and heart) – feast your soul on these lyrics:
White lights and desperation
Hard times and conversation
No one should ever love me like you do
Sometimes my bad decisions
Define my false suspicions
No one should ever love me like you do
Hard times and conversation
No one should ever love me like you do
Sometimes my bad decisions
Define my false suspicions
No one should ever love me like you do
While I’m on this road you take my hand
Somehow you really love who I really am
I push you away, still you won’t let go
You grow your roses on my barren soul
Somehow you really love who I really am
I push you away, still you won’t let go
You grow your roses on my barren soul
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
Who am I, who am I, who am I
Last night, confidence was shaken
My wounds and my past was saying
No one should ever love me like you do
My wounds and my past was saying
No one should ever love me like you do
While I’m on this road you take my hand
Somehow you really love who I really am
I push you away, still you won’t let go
You grow your roses on my barren soul
Somehow you really love who I really am
I push you away, still you won’t let go
You grow your roses on my barren soul
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
To be loved by you
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
The way I push you through it, what you had to see
I’m a train wreck, I’m a mess, you see the best
And the worst in me
Still I can’t imagine that I’ve learned your trust
I don’t understand where your love comes from
I’m a train wreck, I’m a mess, you see the best
And the worst in me
Still I can’t imagine that I’ve learned your trust
I don’t understand where your love comes from
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
To be loved by you
Who am I, who am I, who am I
To be loved by you
See what I mean?
And there are countless others out there. . .
If you’re a product of the 90’s, you will love Shane and Shane’s new album Vintage.
If you have a pulse, you will love Hope Darst’s “Love Like This.”
You can’t go wrong with Kari Jobe’s “Blessing.“
And, of course, there is never a bad time to listen to Andrew Peterson.
I have been WEARING OUT these artists and songs. I guess I need them all the time, but especially now. Know what I mean?
Additionally, though I haven’t listened to many of these yet, there is a great list here and here of new Christian artists who can be trusted.
What about you? What music have you been wearing out during this season? Sometimes when your soul is wearing out, wearing out music is exactly what you need.
Know what I mean?
