Here are seven inspiring Bible verses from the Book of Revelation

Revelation 1:1 “The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show to his servants the things that must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John.”

This is not John’s Book of Revelation but God calls it “The Revelation of Jesus Christ” which God gave to John so that it would be made it known to him and it was John “who bore witness to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, even to all that he saw” (Rev 1:2).

Revelation 21:3 “And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.”

This is after all of the dead and all of the living has been judged (Rev 20:12-15) and when God comes down with the New Jerusalem to dwell with His people. At that point, He eliminates all of the former pain, heartache, suffering, sorrow, tears, and even death (21:4). Paul wrote that “there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing” (2nd Tim 4:8). This crown is not just for Paul but for all who long to see God face to face and to dwell with Him and be His people. No wonder they eager await the day of His visitation. This will truly be an awesome experience because we “will see his face, and his name will be on [our] foreheads” (Rev 22:4).

Revelation 12:11 “And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, for they loved not their lives even unto death.”

We are a lot more than victors because it was through Christ that our victory came. Paul wrote “in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us” (Rom 8:37). This victory couldn’t be lost by death, powers, things to come, things in the present, life, death, angels, principalities, nor anything that was ever created (Rom 8:38-39).

Revelation 1:3 “Blessed is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear, and who keep what is written in it, for the time is near.”

People tend to shy away from the Book of Revelation because it’s somewhat of an enigma to many. Rather than trying to understand it they simply don’t read it but they miss out on something. They miss out on a blessing because everyone who reads aloud these words will be blessed. Notice John wrote that the words are read aloud. This can be done in one’s own mind, at Bible study, during a Sunday morning sermon, or anytime and anyplace the Book of Revelation is opened. Open the book and be blessed. Keep it closed, miss a blessing.

Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.”

Jesus is speaking to the Church at Laodicea; the church that’s lukewarm. Maybe the reason that Jesus is outside knocking on the door of this church is because He’s not in that church nor is He a part of that church. He is knocking so they’ll let Him in. Apparently this door can only be opened from the inside. They must take the initiative and open the door for Jesus because He will never force Himself on anyone. They must let Him in and only then will He will eat with them and have fellowship with them.

Revelation 21:4 “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”

Here is a tender moment in history; God Himself has just come down to dwell with His people (Rev 21:3) and now He wipes away every tear and painful moment from His children’s lives. And what God wipes away, stays away. Everything is now brand new and all of these former heartbreaks have passed away forever.

Revelation 1:7 “Behold, he is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, even those who pierced him, and all tribes of the earth will wail on account of him. Even so. Amen.”

They will finally see Him whom they pierced and this isn’t just speaking of the Roman soldiers who did the physical act. I believe this verse means all of those responsible for sending Jesus to the cross. That would include the Pharisees, the Sadducees, the lawyers, the scribes, the false witnesses, Pontius Pilate, the Sanhedrin Council, and every one of the thousands that yelled “Crucify Him.”

Conclusion

The Book of Revelation brings a blessing and a warning. It brings bad news but it also brings good news. God says that for everyone who reads this book will be blessed but there is no greater blessing than by repenting and believing in Jesus (Mark 1:15) because they have now passed from death to life in Jesus Christ (John 3:16). The bad news is for all those who reject believing in Jesus, they too will behold His coming, every eye will see Him, and all who refused to repent and believe will mourn on account of Him.
