The Lillies of the Field…

The Lillies of the Field…

**The plumber came out today to fix the disposal and guess what — he pushed the reset button on the bottom and it was all fixed!  Then, he told me that he didn’t want to have to charge me a service charge for doing nothing, so he sold me some organic drain cleaner in lieu of the service charge.

So, I think that draperies are back on the list. — and don’t worry, you’ll get to weigh in, because I have figured out how to scan my swatches into PDFs!!

I haven’t really told everyone that I am in the process, slowly but surely, of redecorating (or just decorating LOL), the common spaces of our house.  Since I decided to start this project, I have been gifted with two desks, fabric for my dining room windows and wall paper for my powder room.  And a not broken garbage disposal.

I don’t know why I worry.  Seriously, if I had needed to spend $500 on repairs today and not had draperies for another year, we would all have been just fine.  I think that the Lord just gives me these gifts of inconveniences so that I will remember to be accepting and grateful, and most of all so that I will stop trying to control everything!

I have always loved the Indigo Girls song, Galileo, not a Christian perspective at all but a good tune, and as a child I was intrigued by the idea of reincarnation, the idea of trying, over and over, until you get it right.  The truth of the incarnation means that we get to keep trying in this life, we are forgiven as soon as we ask and we get to start over, and over, and over right in our own lives.  I don’t get to blame the last life, I have to overcome my own stuff every day, but He gives me just what I need to get there.  Which is a great thing, because I would be back to the lowest rung, I’m sure, if not for God’s infinite mercy.

**Get it?  Super Mario, plumber extraordinaire!
