Dear Trads, The Jesuits are Saving Lives

Dear Trads, The Jesuits are Saving Lives 2022-12-29T12:21:38-06:00

Dear Traditionalist Catholics,

Did you know that the Jesuits are saving lives, especially Father James Martin and Pope Francis? I once thought like you, that James Martin was a heretic while Pope Francis is too liberal and too soft on doctrine. I thought the same as you until they saved lives in my own family, the lives of other Catholic families, and people who are not Catholic.  You heard me correctly.

Why are we professed Roman Catholics if we constantly criticize Pope Francis and the collective Magisterial authority of the Church? Is there a possibility that God actually placed Pope Francis in the Chair of St. Peter for “such a time as this?”  Pope Francis’s largest strength is his grounding in Catholic Social Teaching which addresses these areas: Life and Dignity of the Human Person, Call to Family, Community, Participation Rights and Responsibilities, Options for the Poor and the Vulnerable, The Dignity of Work and the Rights of Workers, and Solidarity. Pope Francis is a world-traveler and can see the needs of humanity in a panoramic view unlike most of us. Although accused, Pope Francis has not significantly altered the teachings of the Catholic Church even though the media twists what he says. I invite you to read his actual encyclicals such as Fratelli Tutti, Laudato Si, and Lumen Fidei which give more detail. Pope Francis actually clarifies moral teachings while giving pastoral care guidelines for those who may be struggling with Church teaching.  Pope Francis further clarifies the Church’s historic teaching that all life is sacred from conception to natural death, not just unborn life. Yet, our political climate has created a care and concern only for the unborn. Is it possible that Pope Francis, the Vatican, the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, and the Magisterial authority combined are wiser than us Roman Catholics individually?

What Francis-hating Catholics tend to forget is that following the Pope in live-time for current events is the primarily why we are Roman Catholic, because of the Primacy of Peter. It is the main reason I am a Roman Catholic. Pope Francis is the 266th Successor to the Apostle Peter which can be found in every major historical reference source. Pope Francis has been right about vaccines being important, Trump not being a good man, accompanying, loving, and supporting gay children and appointing Father James Martin because it’s life and death.  Pope Francis has been right about the maladies of war and oppression, voting more progressively, not being totally obsessed with contraception, abortion, and sexuality, solidarity with other human beings all kinds of cultures, creeds, and backgrounds, and he has been right about additional current events as well.  In short, Pope Francis has been right about the 2000 Bible verses, Catholic Social Teaching, and the Gospel itself which speaks of the poor, the marginalized, the oppressed, and Jesus’ first and 2nd greatest commandments to love God and our neighbor as ourselves.

Back to LGBTQ youth and their families, every major medical association in the world says that affirmation and acceptance for LGBTQ+ people and their families is life and death. If so, wouldn’t it make since for us all to support the Jesuits, especially Pope Francis and Father James Martin? Listen to the Chair of Peter.
